The mission of 501 Connect, Inc. is to help nonprofits, businesses and individuals make the connections necessary for effective community building efforts. We enhance the presence of nonprofit organizations and inspire others to take action.
A Resource For The Whole Community 501Connect.com provides Greater St. Louis area community members with a central location to find opportunities to get involved with local nonprofit organizations. Local organizations can get lost in large, national directories. Our exclusively local focus illuminates St. Louis nonprofit organizations, their missions and needs. We provide Greater St. Louis area community members with easy to search and navigate, aggregated lists of local: Volunteer Opportunities Day of Service Projects Employment Opportunities Nonprofit Organizations Charity Wish Lists Charity Events Promoting and Enabling Volunteerism 501Connect.com contains a set of tools to help bring together Greater St. Louis area nonprofits and volunteers with service opportunities for every type of civic-minded person or group. Prior to the launch of 501Connect.com, St. Louis area students, parents, employees and other groups looking for a cause with which to get involved conducted their searches by going from one nonprofit organization website to another, or, by using complicated search forms on national websites, often unsuccessfully. Our youth service initiative, MAD in the Lou (Make a Difference in the St. Louis Community) empowers students to take their skills, talent and fresh ideas into the community to tackle causes they care about. We provide students with the tools AND the opportunities to make a real impact! We Make It Easy The 501Connect.com Volunteer Opportunity directory is the most user friendly locally focused set of listings available. Website visitors are not required to create an account with yet another username and password to remember, or go through a login process. We provide numerous ways to search listings including an intuitive "Quick Search" bar at the top of each page in the directory. 501Connect.com is the only online aggregated volunteer opportunity directory dedicated exclusively to the Greater St. Louis area nonprofit community. We believe that sharing knowledge and inspiring others are essential components of social responsibility. In the spirit of building awareness, our 'GOOD' Buzz articles include news about nonprofit organizations, the communities they serve, people that inspire us and charity events. 501Connect offers information and advice from nonprofit and philanthropic leaders in the St. Louis Community, covering various aspects of the not for profit environment, including: planning, development, fundraising, financial management, board development and volunteer base. In addition, we provide resources, listings, technical knowledge and other information to Greater St. Louis area nonprofit organizations at no cost to them with the overall objective of strengthening each organization and the St. Louis community as a whole.
