Legal Services Of Eastern Missouri, Lemay Housing Partnership Receive $18,500 Grant To Assist Low-income Lemay Residents
Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM) and the Lemay Housing Partnership recently received a $18,500 grant from the St. Louis County Port Authority Community Reinvestment Fund to provide civil legal assistance to low-income people in order to promote in Lemay in order to promote economic stability.
In partnership with the Lemay Housing Partnership, the two organizations will also host workshops to teach residents about home ownership and its responsibilities and consumer debt/housing issues.
LSEM and the Lemay Housing Partnership were among nine organizations to receive a combined $1.8 million from the fund last fall, which is distributed every six months to various community groups.
Lemay Housing Partnership, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to promote an enhanced quality of life and an economically sustainable, healthy living environment through a variety of home improvement opportunities for lower income families in the Lemay area of South St Louis County. The organization develops new, affordable homes for sale, manages professional home repairs, implements volunteer beautification efforts and conducts homeowner education workshops. LHP is located on the School Sisters of Notre Dame campus.

LSEM is proud to be a United Way member agency. In 2011, LSEM represented over 21,000 people (including clients and their household members) in 21 counties of eastern Missouri.
