Nonprofit Services Center President Deborah L. Cooper Resigns
The board of directors of the Nonprofit Services Center (NSC) announced today that its president, Deborah L. Cooper, has resigned and will be stepping down, effective April 30, 2012. A national search is underway to find her successor.

"The board thanks Deborah for all her efforts and energy in guiding NSC to become the State of Missouri's premier capacity building management support organization," said Amy Beechner-McCarthy, search committee chair. "Deborah has made many contributions to NSC's success, and through her vision, leadership and dedication to the work, she has found new and creative ways to strengthen nonprofit leaders and connect nonprofits from around the state to well-needed resources and programs. We are sad to see Deborah leave, but respect her decision."

Ms. Cooper has served as NSC's President since 2006. "I will truly miss working with the many nonprofit professionals, staff and consultants who I now call my community of friends, said Ms. Cooper. "I believe there is no work, greater and more honorable, than that done by the nonprofit sector."

Ms. Cooper will spend the next few months working with NSC's board to ensure a smooth transition to new leadership. Before joining NSC, she was the first Vice President of Programs at the Missouri Foundation for Health.

Nonprofit Services Center was formed in 1990, and its mission is dedicated to strengthening the Missouri region's nonprofit organizations by providing programs, services and resources that inform, promote and connect nonprofits as they work to improve the lives and conditions of the communities they serve. NSC envisions the Missouri region's nonprofit agencies as leaders in creating communities that are more safe, more just, and more vibrant places for people to work and live. NSC offers programs throughout the state of Missouri and Southern Illinois. For more information, visit www.nonprofitservices.org.
