Development Diagnostics LLC, a St. Louis-based nonprofit consultancy, has released the Rapid Development Self-Assessment (RDSA) toolkit.
A direct descendent of EFQM-based RDA Diagnostics, this toolkit is designed to facilitate the development and implementation of robust self-assessment programs by a wide range of nonprofit organizations. Diagnostic processes such as Rapid Development Assessment (RDA) are now used to identify organizational deficiencies, performance gaps, and their root causes for the purpose of developing and implementing the most appropriate solutions or “interventions.” Just as importantly, the diagnostic process itself often serves as a powerful consciousness raising, motivational activity.
The RDSA framework leverages two complementary analytical models to quickly and cost-effectively:- Assess the nonprofit’s performance at multiple organizational levels,
- Objectively identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and their etiology in areas ranging from mission and leadership to policies and procedures,
- Elicit information and knowledge hidden in the organization, and
- Test long-held beliefs and assumptions permeating the organization’s culture and strategy.
All necessary documents, including a comprehensive user’s manual, customizable questionnaires, and scoring tools, are available for free download at http://www.developmentdiagnostics.com/RDSADiagnostics.html
