New GuideStar Campaign Offers Donors A Way To "Think Outside The Wallet": Giving That Won't Break The Bank
A recent Harris Interactive poll shows that the percentage of people who say they are not making charitable donations has doubled to 12%. This could prove challenging for charities this holiday giving season, because while donors continue to cut back on both how much and to whom they give, the need for donations continues to increase. But financial donations are just one way that individuals can contribute to causes they believe in. In ...  More

The Nonprofit Board: You Get Out What You Put In
Most nonprofits wish their boards were more effective. The old adage, "You get out what you put in" seems to apply to this situation. If we invest more energy in the board, it will produce more. Our employers know that if they invest in our careers our productivity will improve. They train us. They give us annual reviews. They encourage us. They promote us. They listen to us. They ask us about our ambitions and desires. Now think ...  More

The Blurring Lines Of Charitable And Commercial Activities
For far too long now it's been the mindset of nonprofit practitioners and funders alike that there exists a clear and absolute line between commercial and charitable activities. (After all, we are "not for profit," ...  More

Tag, You're It: 5 Reasons Why Your Nonprofit Needs A Tagline

Taglines say what makes your nonprofit different Who cares about your ...  More

Recent Survey By The Harris Poll Finds Substantial Numbers Still Willing To Donate Time And Money
