Nonprofit professionals often need to be budget-conscious, in both their professional and personal lives. As the back-to-back holiday season creeps onto the horizon, here are my tips and tricks for making your dollar go farther, both in your purchase and your purchase's impact.
Blessing Basket is a nonprofit based in St. Louis, but has a global impact. Their products are excellent and you're contributing to a great cause that employs people with disabilities locally and artisans globally. Their baskets are great gifts for friends and family, vendors, board members or staff. They are having their 7th Annual Warehouse Sale November 10th, don't miss this opportunity to see their facility and shop!
Looking for party favors, baked goods or gifts? Angel Baked Cookies lets you do more than just buy sweet treats. Angel Baked is a social enterprise program of North Grand Neighborhood Services that empowers youth through employment, training, and personal development - all while producing great-tasting, all-natural cookies. Full disclosure: I have yet to try these, but I have heard rave reviews!
Finally, if you need supplies, costumes, gifts or decorations, look no further than MERS Goodwill. This infographic explains it all, including the incredible impact that most people do not realize that Goodwill executes. Check it out below:
