Mission:
The mission of Burns Recovered Support Group is to assist burn survivors in their recovery, support medical facilities in the care of burns in Missouri and educate the public in burn awareness and prevention.

Description:
All of us in Burns Recovered Support Group have been through this experience. We understand the problems faced in the hospital and at home.

We are here to:

•Share some practical solutions we have found as we learned to adjust and cope with our injuries;
•Provide emotional support and emotional understanding;
•Exchange information which may be helpful to you and your family;
•Try to alleviate feelings of anxiety or fear you may have during the recovery process;
•Ease the transition from hospital to home.
Most importantly we want you to know that you are not alone. We are here to help.

BRSG holds monthly self-help support group meetings in St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri. The meetings are open to burn survivors and anyone wanting to learn more about burn recovery.

In addition to the monthly support group meetings, peer support is provided to patients and their loved ones, during the in-patient hospital stay, in St. Louis and Columbia. Out-patient peer support is provided in St. Louis at aftercare visits in the burn clinic.

But… help is only as far away as the telephone. Don't hesitate to call the office and ask for help. Someone with BRSG is always available to share experince, strength and hope with you. A problem shared is only half a problem.

We offer a variety of programs such as;
*Missour Children's Burn Camp - for burn-injured children age 6-17
*Changing Times - for young adult burn-survivors, age 18-25
*Scholarship Fund
*School/Work Re-entry
