The Mission of ACOPP is to establish or re-establish relationships between children and their incarcerated parents,by opening lines of consisted lines communication;transporting them to visit said parents and providing creative-writing workshops!

Hello my name is Demetrius Harper and I’m an intern working for ACOPP through the Saint Louis Science Center Y.E.S Program. ACOPP (Assisting Children of Prison Parents) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, incorporated under the State of Missouri statutes. ACOPP provides a wide spectrum of programs and services to children who have one or both parents whom are incarcerated. They do this in three phase’s letter writing, phone calls and transportation to and from the prison. In order to established and maintain a consistent line of communication with their incarcerated parent until they are released. ACOPP also takes groups of children and engage them in tutoring, real life skills and role playing scenarios, physical activities and field trips. In an effort to help this unique population of children have opportunities that are limited when a parent is incarcerated. ACOPP also facilitate monthly men/women support groups created for the guardians of the children in our program to equip them with information and resources upon release in order to deter the high recidivism rate.

Thank you for considering ACOPP to be one of the many non-for- profit organization that your company supports. This upcoming August ACOPP and Block Style Investment are teaming up, and hosting a back to school rally for the 2013-2014 Academic School Year. This event will be a big event for both companies and both companies would be greatly appreciated in gaining your companies sponsorship and or a donation. The literature we have enclosed will assist you in learning a little more on ACOPP and the services we have to offer. If you have any questions, please feel free to visit our website to see a visual of what we have been able to accomplish so far.
