Host Family

Organization: Youth For Understanding (YFU) Address: 1929 Pine Run Drive, Chesterfield, Missouri Job Title: Host Family Focus Areas: International, Children & Youth, Community, Education & Literacy, Race & Ethnicity, Veterans & Military Families, Women Duration: Full-Time Seasonal Minimum Age: 25 Details: Host an international high school student for the 2012/13 school year. Volunteer host families do not get paid, but do receive a $50 tax credit for each month they host. Students usually arrive in August and return home the following June. Families provide meals, a bed, a place to study and ensure the student can get to school. Students bring their own spending money and have their own health insurance.

You do not need to have high school aged children to host! Families can have younger children, be empty nesters or single persons. Families pick their own student from a list of students from all over the world.
