Volunteer Humane Investigator for Gateway Pet Guardians

Our mission is eliminate the homeless pet problem in the Metro East through rescue, education and spay/neuter. Part of education is investigating and educating about proper animal care. We are looking for people that would like to be licensed Humane Investigators for Gateway Pets. All Humane Investigators are licensed in Illinois and take part in a training session (at no cost to you). Anyone can become a volunteer Humane Investigator as long as they pass the exam.

As a Humane Investigator, you will be answering animal neglect and abuse calls received from us and possibly from the IL Ag Department. You will work with us and possibly the police to investigate the call and take care of the complaint. This is a volunteer position. You would be doing something that many people can't and won't do. The impact this will have on the Metro East Communities will be HUGE! YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

You must pass an exam after the training session. We are unsure of the dates for this but we will find out in September. They are usually in November.
