Student Volunteer Needed for Mother/Daughter Program

Organization: Girls in the Know Address: 679 Old Riverwoods Lane, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017 Job Title: Program Facilitator Focus Areas: Children & Youth, Community, Education & Literacy, Emergency & Safety, Women Duration: Part-Time Seasonal Minimum Age: 18 Details: We are in need of undergraduate/grad school volunteers who have an emphasis in the School of Social Work, Counseling, or Health. This volunteer position consists of setting up for mother/daughter workshops, at various locations in the St Louis and surrounding areas (usually elementary and middle schools), introducing the speakers, taking notes about what occurred during the sessions, and then concluding the sessions. The volunteer will act as a liaison between the mothers/daughters in attendance, the speakers, and the executive director of Girls in the Know. The volunteer should be personable and comfortable speaking in front of a group. Must be able to drive and have own transportation.
The time commitment will be 2 to 3 evenings a week from 6:00 to 8:00pm on either Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from September 2010 to May 2011 with the exception of the months of December 2010 and March 2011.
